Closing and Winners of the Odessa Film Festival 2018

On July 21, at the Odessa Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, a solemn closing ceremony of the 9th OIFF was held.

The British actress, a special guest of the 9th OIFF Jacqueline Bisset, was awarded the "Golden Duke" for her contribution to the cinema art

The first to announce the winner of the competition of European documentary films. They became the film "Home Games" by Alisa Kovalenko (Ukraine, France, Poland).

The jury of the National Competition is recognized as the best Ukrainian short film "In Joy and Only in Joy", directed by Marina Roshchina. "Golden Duke" for the full-length film of the National Competition Program went to the "Delta" by Alexander Techinsky.

The owner of "Duke" for the best actor's work in the National Competition was Anastasia Pustovit ("When the trees are falling," directed by Maryssy Nikityuk). The director of the film received the award. In the category "Best Director's work" won Tonya Nybyrelova, "The Hero of My Time."

Special mention was given to "Communication", dir. Zhanna Ozernaya and "About Mark Lvovich Tulipov, who talked with flowers," dir. This is Kavelina.

A day earlier, FIPRESCI diplomas were awarded - the best Ukrainian feature film was Delta (directed by Alexander Techinsky), and the best Ukrainian short film was Magnetic Storm directed by Igor Gansky.

A special diploma of the jury was the film "Pororoka" directed by Konstantin Popescu (Romania, France) for the tragic majesty and the deepest trace that history produces.

In the category "Best Acting" Victor Polster won, "The Girl", Belgium. The best director recognized Babis Makridis for the film "It's a pity" (Greece, Poland). The best film of the jury unanimously recognized the tape of the same Macridis "Sorry". Awards were given to the producer of the film Claudia Shmeia.

The owner of the main prize of the 9th OIFF - Grand Prix - was the film "Crystal" Daria Zhuk (co-production of Belarus, Germany, the United States and Russia). The winner in this category was traditionally determined by the audience of the film festival.

The film The closing of the 9th OIFF was the film "Liberated" by Pierre Salvador, who received the award of the Consortium of Authors and Composers of the Biennial of the Directors of the Cannes Film Festival-2018. This year, the film was shown at the Festival Palace.

The 10th Odessa International Film Festival will be held from 12 to 20 July!
